Working With Neighbouring Parish And Town Councils
Parish boundaries are lines of little importance when it comes to the impact of wide area policies such as health, education, the environment, transportation, roads and planning applications with wide area implications. In the case of these examples, the only way that Parish Councils can influence these policies is to work together with neighbouring Parish and Town Councils.
In Bywell’s case it is a member of the East Tynedale Parish and Town Councils Forum which has a membership of thirteen Parish Councils in East Tynedale and Prudhoe Town Council. This Forum meets quarterly to discuss issues which affect all or a number of members. This Forum has been in place for nine years.
